The Shun Kanso 7-in. Hollow-Ground Santoku is a beautiful, Asian-inspired chef's knife that many cooks today have added to their kitchen arsenal. A knife of many talents, a santoku (meaning three virtues) easily handles all the basic kitchen cutting tasks, such as slicing, dicing and mincing. Often preferred to a chef’s knife for its smaller length than a standard chef's knife, the Shun Kanso Santoku is very easy to maneuver. With a slight curve to the blade, this knife enables rocking cuts, which just adds to the knife's versatility. The santoku is especially well suited to a down-and-forward cutting motion (push cut), making for easy food preparation and top performance. The hollow-ground feature aids in food release from the blade, for faster work. The Shun Kanso 7-in. Hollow-Ground Santoku is part of the Kanso series. Kanso is a design principle based on Zen philosophy. It means “simplicity,” but simplicity that is achieved by eliminating the non-essential. In Kanso, we took away anything that doesn’t matter and kept everything that does: high-performance steel, razor-sharp edge, perfect balance, and precision cutting control. The steel is Japanese AUS10A—highly refined, high-carbon, vanadium stainless steel that takes a razor-sharp edge and holds it longer. Kanso's Heritage finish hides scratches and gives Kanso a rustic look that just improves with age. The handle is made of Tagayasan wood, sometimes known as “iron sword wood." The handle contouring enables an easy chef's grip. Full-tang construction provides strength, balance, and easy cutting control. Like all Shun knives, Kanso is sharpened to a 16° cutting angle each side to cut cleanly and help preserve food’s freshness and best taste. WHO IS COVERED?
This limited warranty is non-transferable and covers only the original end purchaser. An original or copy of a sales receipt from K&M is required for warranty service. This limited warranty does not cover products purchased through online auction websites. Online sales auction confirmations are NOT accepted for warranty verification.
WHAT IS COVERED?
K&M Products (“K&M”) warrants that this product (the “Product”) will be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal use for a period of 30 days from the original purchase date (“Limited Warranty Period”). All returns must be made within 30 days from the day of purchase. All items must be accompanied by sales receipt, and be in original package. Our 30 day return policy excludes: All air conditioners, heaters, fans, and humidifiers (all seasonal items). No returns on personal hygiene products and vacuums if used.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED?
– Normal wear and tear of Product use
– Misuse, lack of care, mishandling, accident, abuse or other abnormal use
– Use of the Product other than for its intended purpose
– Damage caused by improper or unauthorized repair or maintenance
– Product that has been modified or altered
– Any product that is not sold by K&M (including, without limitation, any non-K&M product that is used in connection with the Product)
HOW TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM
Warranty claims must be made directly to K&M if the product is still within 30 days purchase from the store. If your purchase warranty from the store has expired, please review original manufacturer warranty.
Before shipping any returns, please contact us at email@example.com, subject write “returns” and in the body of your email include a copy of your receipt. We’ll follow up and let you know what to do or you can also drop by the store. If you decide to ship your product, be sure to include your return mailing address, email address, phone number, copy of receipt and all original packaging. Always ship your product using a trackable means, ship or mail the claim to:

You’ll need to take care of the shipping costs for shipping it to us. K&M will pay the (tracking included) costs for shipping your replacement (U.S. only). K&M can’t be responsible for lost or missing packages. K&M is not liable for Products that are damaged or lost in transit to K&M.
Once K&M receives your warranty claim, we will evaluate it (typically within 7-10 business days of receipt) to determine whether the returned Product does not conform to the limited warranty. If K&M determines that there is a warranted defect in the Product, K&M will, at its option, remedy the defect as set forth in the limited warranty. We’ll email you a Sales Order Number once we process your claim. Keep that number handy for your reference, and allow 3-5 days for delivery.
All products returned to K&M will be subject to review for authenticity. Products determined to be counterfeit will be confiscated and turned over to K&M’s legal department for action. Counterfeit products will not be returned and consumers should seek restitution from their original place of purchase.
SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY
Your sole and exclusive remedy for a breach of this limited warranty, and K&M’s sole and entire liability is, at K&M’s option, to repair or replace the defective Product or refund the purchase price of the defective Product within 30 days. Repair or replacement (including parts and labor and shipping costs) shall be made at K&M’s expense if product is within 30 days store warranty. K&M reserves the right to send you a replacement product that is the same or of a similar style or a substitute equivalent that may not be of like kind (depending on availability). Replacement products will be furnished only on an exchange basis. Replacement products are warranted as above for the remainder of the original applicable Product warranty period.
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, K&M MAKES NO OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS AND EXCLUDES ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS, MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF SUCH DISCLAIMER OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY IS NOT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DURATION OF ANY SUCH IMPLIED WARRANTIES IS LIMITED TO THE DURATIONS SET FORTH IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY MAY LAST, SO SUCH LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
IN NO EVENT SHALL K&M OR ITS SUPPLIERS SHALL BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THE PRODUCT, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF VALUE OF THE PRODUCT OR ANY THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS THAT ARE USED IN OR WITH THE PRODUCT, OR LOSS OF USE OF THE PRODUCT OR ANY THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS THAT ARE USED IN OR WITH THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF K&M HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. K&M HAS NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE OR DESTRUCTION TO CONSUMER ELECTRONICS DEVICES OR OTHER PERSONAL PROPERTY THAT ARE IN THE PRODUCTS, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LAPTOPS, CELL PHONES, MP3 PLAYERS, DVD PLAYERS OR HANDHELD DEVICES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA CONTAINED IN THE FOREGOING DEVICES. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY DAMAGES THAT YOU MIGHT INCUR FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ALL DAMAGES REFERENCED HEREIN AND ALL DIRECT OR GENERAL DAMAGES IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE), THE ENTIRE LIABILITY OF K&M AND ANY OF ITS SUPPLIERS SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT. SOME STATES AND/OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
